Do you want stronger hair? Discover the products and tips that can help you achieve this
A healthy and strong head of hair is a credit to anyone, but not everyone can achieve this very easily. Sometimes, luxuriant hair will be the result of meticulous care, and at the foundation of this there will always be - in addition to genetic factors - the synergy of a healthy lifestyle and diet. In fact, stress, as well as consuming the wrong foods and having poor habits (such as a lack of sleep, or drinking little water) can all have a negative impact on our hair. And this includes washing our hair too frequently and using inferior cleansing products.
When you notice that your hair is in a poorer / weaker condition than usual, it could be a symptom of stress or bad habits and this situation should be corrected. To this end, you can help yourself by using some specific products and avoiding doing those things (bad habits) which can worsen the situation.
- Use castor oil: Among the most recommended traditional remedies for scalp health is castor oil. Although there is nothing but anecdotal evidence, this remedy has remained popular in many cultures since time immemorial. Do not use castor oil too often and excessively (it could lead to tangled hair), but once every two or three weeks you can do a very simple home treatment.
Wearing rubber gloves (and clothes that can be dripped on without problems), put a couple of tablespoons of the oil onto your scalp, massaging in gently for a couple of minutes. If there is any excess oil, distribute it over the length of the hair as well. Then put on a shower cap (or even use a plastic bag or cling film) to keep the oil in place for a couple of hours. Finally, wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner as per usual.
Other useful tips:
- Avoid using straighteners, irons or hairdryers at very high temperatures and for too long: it is true that these are essential to give a desired style, but they damage the hair a lot. It is best to air dry your hair whenever possible. It is also very useful to learn how to direct the heat of the hair dryer onto the hair strands in order to help "seal" the scales on the hair instead of stressing them.
- The heat of the water when we rinse our hair can also be an additional cause of stress for hair. Using lukewarm water is recommended.
- Increase your consumption of vitamins and proteins: there are foods that give us vitamins from groups A, B, C, D E and also introduce proteins, iron and zinc into your body. Consult a nutritionist to find out which ones are right for you (keeping in mind your dietary needs).
- Shampoo: always try to use the most delicate one possible for your hair type, but in any case, avoid washing your hair more than three times a week (even less frequently than this is better). But don't wait too long either, as a dirty scalp can have negative effects on hair growth and strength.
- Massage the scalp: When you wash your hair, try to massage the products into the scalp. This movement increases blood circulation and therefore also increases the supply of oxygen. Even a simple two-minute daily massage (on dry hair, of course) can have excellent results.
These are just a few small precautions can help us to achieve a more beautiful and healthier head of hair!
