DIY wrinkle Cream: Make your own at home with aloe vera and coconut oil!
The passage of time and daily stress inevitably leaves its mark on our skin, among which are wrinkles, which, however, can be countered with effective remedies to be included in our beauty routine.
Everyone's needs are certainly different, but everyone's skin always needs to be hydrated even if just externally. And we can do this thanks to creams and lotions that we can buy and use every day. If you want to try a natural remedy for facial wrinkles, you can prepare a cream based on coconut oil and aloe vera gel - two ingredients with numerous beneficial properties for the skin. Read on to find out more:
Aloe vera cannot make old wrinkles disappear but it does help to counteract the formation of new ones, because it promotes the production of collagen and elastin. Given this property, a gel-based product that is extracted from aloes can be used on the face, even around the eyes and the mouth (as long as you are very careful not to get the cream in your eyes).
Coconut oil, on the other hand, strengthens the protective barrier of the skin, making it stay more hydrated and appear more full and healthy.
How to use these ingredients for the skin:
- 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
- (optional) if you want, you can add just one or two drops of a rosehip or lavender essential oil to delicately perfume the product. These extracts are beneficial to the skin and can have a pleasant relaxing effect when applied before bedtime.
Mix the ingredients in a glass jar (even one that was used for some old cream, but which you have first cleaned and sterilized) and apply an even layer on the face, massaging in gently using circular movements of the fingertips. For an intense treatment you can leave the product on for the night, otherwise, for normal use, rinse off with warm water after 5 or 10 minutes.
To ensure that the cream does not become too liquid, especially when it is hot, it is always good to keep it in the fridge: even immediately after having prepared it and before applying it it would be advisable to keep it for a few hours in the fridge so that it thickens up a bit. After being opened, it is best to use it up fairly quickly, perhaps within a couple of weeks. Considering how simple it is to prepare it, it is better to do this change more often to ensure you always have a fresh product.
Even if these are natural ingredients and tend to be gentle on the skin, it is always advisable to make sure that you are not allergic to any of the components, and maybe make a test before applying any DIY cream: put a small amount on the inside of the elbow and check for any negative reactions in the following 24 - 48 hours.
