Pimples and blackheads: try these natural, homemade acne treatments

Acne is a very widespread problem in the world's population: if for many it is a condition that shows itself only during adolescence, for many others it remains a problem even into adulthood. Whether it manifests itself in the form of simple blackheads or as zits / pimples, the condition is caused by an obstruction of the pores of the skin, which are filled with sebum and dead skin cells. When the pores are blocked in this way, they become fertile ground for the proliferation of bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes). Genetic factors, diet, stress or hormonal imbalances can also have a great influence on this condition, and in order to eliminate the problem in a systematic and thorough way, it is always good to consult a doctor, who will indicate the appropriate therapies required.

However, if you also want to try some natural remedies prepared at home to combat acne, you can try some of the simple remedies below:

Apple cider vinegar

The organic acids in this liquid help kill acne-causing bacteria, and make scars fade. However, it is a substance to always avoid in the case of having sensitive skin and should always be diluted with water as it can cause irritation. Mix 1 part vinegar with 3 (or even 5) parts water, and use the solution by splashing it on your face which you have already cleaned, and with the help of cotton balls. Leave it on for 15 seconds and then rinse it off and pat your face dry. You can repeat the treatment once a day.

Honey and cinnamon mask

These two natural ingredients are also able to fight bacteria and reduce skin inflammations that cause the appearance of pimples and blackheads. In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of organic honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, stirring it until you have a creamy consistency that you can spread on your face - always after having already washed it thoroughly. Leave the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse off thoroughly with warm water, gently drying your face.

Tea tree essential oil

An essential oil with a thousand beneficial properties. This oil acts against skin irritations and kills bacteria that cause acne. Also in this case it is a substance that needs to be diluted: Put 1 part of tea tree oil into 9 parts of water and stir to mix the solution. You then need to dip a cotton swab or a bit of cotton into the solution and apply it topically, and only on the affected areas. Once it is absorbed, you can use a little cream or other moisturizer for the face. This is also a procedure that can be done once a day.

Green tea

Green tea polyphenols are a valuable ally in the fight against acne-causing bacteria. In addition, green tea is rich in antioxidants, so you just need to prepare a normal infusion (leaving the green tea to infuse for 3 or 4 minutes), wait for the tea to cool and use it on the face with cotton wool balls or even by spraying it on. Let it dry and then gently rinse your face.

Although these are natural ingredients, it is always good to be sure that you do not have intolerances and allergies to these products. Apply some to the skin in the crook of the elbow and check for any reactions for 24-48 hours before proceeding. And consult with experts if you want to be sure that you can use these remedies without fear.
