There is no doubt that the most "looked-forward-to" moment of the Christmas holidays is getting together with loved ones for a slap-up Christmas dinner! And no Christmas dinner spread would be complete without an eye-catching table centerpiece which can be composed of seasonal flora, candles, berries, candies, Christmas ornaments and much, much more! Check out the great ideas listed below:

1. Upright wreaths with support bases

Wreaths are undoubtedly amongst the most traditional and popular of Christmas decorations, so why not use supports to position them standing upright on your dining table as a unqiue centerpiece (as shown in the example pictured here)?

2. Red, gold and hydrangeas

Red berries - real or artificial - are commonly used as Christmas decorations and they go very well with gold. So, if you have some dried hydrangeas laying around (which can be obtained until springtime), you can spray them gold to create a stunning centerpiece, like the one shown here.

3. Cooler, Scandinavian-inspired tones

For those who love cooler hues, branches from evergreen plants - and especially conifers - lend themselves to creating stunning centerpieces. Then, just add dark red berries, some decorations that mimic icicles/frost/snow and your centerpiece is done!

4. Seasonal fruit - which you can eat later

To combine "business with pleasure", you could use seasonal fruit on a display stand as a centerpiece. This way, you not only have a gorgeous display on your Christmas dining table, but the fruit can also be consumed by your guests at the end of the meal!

5. Super minimalism: a candle and not much more

Not much space, or a preference for minimalism when it comes to decorations? If so, then a single candle on a simple stand is for you. Decorate the base of the stand with a few evergreen sprigs and the bare minimum of complimentary embellishments (eg. pine cones, red berries or mistletoe).

6. What about poppies and cotton bolls?

Given that the traditional color-combination around Christmastime is red and white (along with a little green), why not try using plants that are somewhat "unorthodox"? For example, the vases shown here are beautiful arrangements of red poppies and cotton bolls!

7. The breakfast table centerpiece

Even breakfasts around Christmatime can be made to feel special, with delicious indulgences of all types. So, why not use an "opulant" centerpiece like the one shown here to decorate your Christmas breakfast table?

Having gingerbread - topped with colored icing - is another "inviolable" Christmas tradition. Gingerbread is perfect making miniature houses, trees, and other cute decorations that can take the center stage of your dining table.

11. Eco-friendly and with a rustic touch

If you don't want to create unnecessary, extra waste around the Christmas holidays, why not opt for something which is eco-friendly? Get a wooden box (or some other recycled container) and add some soil and/or moss. Then add the bulbs of some flowers you like, a few candles, pine cones and decorative twine. An eco-friendly creation and with a distinctive, rustic air!

The velvety, deep beauty of the color burgundy can help set a "Christmassy" mood. Here's a burgundy-colored composition made up of velvet material, pine cones and... dried chili peppers! A very original and truly sophisticated centerpiece.

13. Lantern centerpieces
