You can also make cute hedgehogs with very few materials. All you need are some toilet paper tubes and some leaves to glue on to represent the spines. Finish off by coloring in or painting and drawing on eyes, noses and mouths with a marker.

Pay homage to autumn with this cute, seasonal flag. Use sticks to create a triangular flag frame and, instead of fabric, use strips of transparent scotch tape to display colorful leaves you and the kids pick up on your walks. Once your "leaf mosaic" is ready, you can finish off by securing and protecting the leaves with a second layer of tape.

4. A 3D autumn tree

Take a piece of cardboard, draw on a trunk and branches and punch small holes into the tips of the branches (or along them). Place colored leaves and/or flowers into these holes and now, you have a three-dimensional picture of an autumnal tree!

A calming jar is always nice to have around the home. And to make one with an autumn theme, take a branch with multiple forks in it and place it into a glass jar (making sure it's a few centimeters shorter than the jar). Then, glue the branch to the jar's lid and glue leaves to the branch. Once done, fill the jar with water and confetti made from shredded, colorful leaves. Put the lid back on the jar, turn it upside down and now, your autumn calming jar is done!

7. Colorful acorns
