5 great projects to creatively recycle glass jars
How many glass jars do you end up throwing away? Well, you can recycle empty glass jars with a bunch of interesting, fun DIY projects. In particular, it is very easy to transform jars into vases for flowers (real or artificial). Check out below how many projects you can try out to furnish your home with recycled glass jars!
1. Just fabric and glue for an incredible product

If you want a flower vase that looks like a designer brand but don't want to spend a fortune, you can use a very simple hack using a fabric that you like.
Select a fabric you really like and then get some scissors, PVA glue and a brush. Cut the fabric into strips and glue them to the inside of the jar (facing outwards, of course). It's a bit like doing a decoupage project, but on the inside of a surface instead. The final effect will be truly beautiful!
2. Even easier: clad with fabric
Perhaps you have some colored scraps of fabric laying around. Well, you can wrap these around the outside of a jar, alternating the fabric patterns, if you like. You can knot scraps together, without worrying that some layers will be thicker than others. Use a bit of glue to hold everything together, if necessary. Check out the example pictured here to see what can be produced!
3. Copying nature

Have you ever noticed how beautiful robin eggs are? With their light blue background and the dark specks that stand out, these eggs are small wonders of nature. And you can copy this to a glass jar as a unique decoration.
First, prime the surface of the jar with a primer. Then, apply two coats of paint: i) use a large paint brush to apply the light blue; ii) use a small paintbrush or old toothbrush to create the darker "speckles" by flicking/back-combing the bristles!
4. Metallic paints

Metallic sheens remain popular for decorative objects. A gold, platinum or silver paint can transform simple glass jars into precious-looking objects.
There are many techniques for decorating jars with this type of paint: they can be drip-painted, fully painted or have a "scraped off" effect. If you want a precise geometric pattern, use painter's tape to mask off the appropriate areas. Remember to remove the tape before it is completely dry!
5. Multicolored, embossed polka dots

Get some tubes of paint that are suitable for applying to glass. If the tubes have a thin nozzle, they will be even easier to to apply (otherwise, use a brush). Choose combinations of two or three colors to use together on each vase, and build up the polka dots by applying multiple layers to each "dot". When dried, the polka dots will have a 3D/raised effect.
