Cleaning with magnets: an effective method for keeping the home clean effortlessly
Most of us think of magnets as handy items we use to attach, for example, our shopping lists (or our "happy snaps") to the metal surface of the fridge.
But did you know you can use magnets for some household cleaning chores? Keep reading to find out more:
1. Bottles and jars
Magnets can be efficient "tools" for cleaning bottles and jars which are normally very difficult to keep clean. Just put a magnet inside the bottle or vase and attract it to the side with a larger (stronger) magnet from the outside; in this way you can clean both the internal surface and external surfaces, quickly, effectively and effortlessly.
2. Clean glass windows with magnets
Cleaning the windows can be easy and fast thanks to the help of magnets. In fact, there are many objects in your home that you can clean effectively using magnets: shower cubicles and window panes in particular can be effectively cleaned of dirt, limescale and soap residue thanks to the use of magnetic brushes.
Traditional methods of cleaning the above-mentioned surfaces requires a lot of time and effort. But by using magnets, these chores will become incredibly simple and quick. All you need to do is place two magnetic brushes on the surfaces to be cleaned and let them attract each other, basically "sandwiching" the surface between two (magnetic) brushes.
You can also make a simple DIY magnetic sponge by making an incision into a sponge and inserting a magnet. Do this again for a second sponge and attach/attract the sponges together to the two sides of the surface of your window or shower cubicle. Now you can get cleaning in an efficient manner.
3. Clean aquariums with magnets
Aquatic animals and reptiles are happier if they are living in a clean environment, but how can you clean their aquariums/vivariums effectively and quickly? Magnetic brushes are the perfect solution for you: while you clean the external surface of your aquarium or display case with one of the magnets, the other magnet on the inside will follow it, significantly reducing cleaning times and increasing cleaning efficacy.
4. Glass shelves
Finally, the glass shelves and countertops of your refrigerator, furniture display and bathroom cabinets can be quickly and effectively cleaned using magnets: use aquarium sponges or create your own magnetic brushes for this purpose.
