Designer candles: 11 up-market ideas to furnish your home with a touch of style
Gone are the days when candles were used to light up our homes, and now they are objects used to create a romantic/"soft" atmosphere and for decoration. Given this, why not decorate your home with some designer candles? These types of candles come in all sorts of eye-catching forms - check out the examples listed below:
1. Tapered candles
Long, tapered, with a thin tip and a perfect geometric shape: these candles are elegant and understated, suitable for any occasion!
2. Twisted candles
So-called "twisted" candles are increasing popular these days and look a bit like thin spirals of smoke. No two are exactly the ame and are certainly eye-catching.
3. Curved, grooved candles
A little bigger, these candles have a simple curved shape, with soft grooves - perfect for those who like modernity.
4. Columns of spheres
These candles look like stacked fruit: here, the spheres/balls of wax are used to "build" decorative column candles. A simple shape, but a unique rendering.
5. Candles that seem to have been sculpted by the wind or the sea
Are you familiar with rocks that have been eroded by the wind or the sea? These candles look like they have been shaped by the same forces of nature, don't you think?
6. Elegant spindle candles
Many candles these days are vegan, ie. they are made from soy wax or some other eco-friendly alternative. These spindle-shaped candles are vegan - what do you think of them?
7. Knurling
Knurling - or the processing of surfaces with thin vertical grooves - is a modern trend that has even reached the world of candles (as shown here)!
8. An endless knot
Here's a white candle in the shape of a toric knot: this fluid shape evokes feelings of serenity and peach!
9. Cheerful mushrooms
In this example, it's more about the container than the candle. That said, how can you resist these colorful mushrooms? And when the candle is spent, the container can be reused however you like (even for a new, DIY candle)! Making a candle is simple: you just need a wick, some melted wax (and the remnants of other candles is also fine, if they are all roughly the same colour) and some essential oils you like!
10. Amaryllis flower
This Amaryllis flower looks completely real, with its velvety petals and realistic shadings... but, it is actually a candle! It's one of those candles that's so nice that you may hesitate to light it.
11. An cute bunny
Whether it's Eastertime or not, a baby blue bunny candle, like the one shown here, is absolutely adorable!
Candles are fascinating objects and all you have to do is choose the ones you like the best!
