Marseille soap can be used both as a hand soap and as a body wash; applied with a corse shower mitt to benefit from this all-natural scrub.

Shaving

If you have run out of shaving cream, you can replace it with Marseille soap: soak a shaving brush in hot water, then rub it on a bar of Marseille soap until it is charged with the soap; apply it to the area to be shaved with firm, circular movements, until it produces a soft foam. Your shave will be perfect.

If you have short hair, you can also use Marseille soap as a regular shampoo substitute: dissolve soap flakes in warm water to make a "shampoo".  Marseille soap will clean and shine your hair, and it will also help clear dandruff. Do not use Marseille soap on very dry or brittle hair and limit its use to once a week.

Use a bar of Marseille soap to remove stubborn stains from your fabrics: simply moisten the bar and rub it directly on the stain; then put your garment in the washing machine without rinsing.

Marseille soap can also be effectively used as a moth repellent for wardrobes and drawers. Fill old socks or cotton bags with Marseille soap flakes (which you can also perfume with an essential oil you like): not only will these flakes keep moths away, but they will give your clothes a pleasant scent.
