Cleaning can be incredibly tiring, but it's a necessary chore to do to keep your home perfectly clean and sanitized.
We also often buy loads of expensive cleaning products that give less than desirable results when used - but fortunately, there are some tips you can use to save time, money and effort doing your cleaning chores
Check out the 8 ingenious tips below to keep your home perfectly clean:
1. Rinse aid for stains

Rinse aid is used in dishwashers to remove excess water and leave dishes streak-free. And this ability can also be exploited in numerous other ways - you can use rinse aid to clean: all glass surfaces/windows, stainless steel fittings (like taps), the external surfaces of household appliances and to remove limescale build-up. Added to the water used to clean the floor, it will also speed up drying times.
2. A squeegee to remove hair
Those of you who have pets know how annoying their shed fur can be and often, the vacuum cleaner is unable to remove it all effectively. To remove pet fur/hair from beds, sofas, armchairs, chairs and carpets, try using a squeegee: the hair will adhere to the rubber edge and form "fluff ball" which can be easily be vacuumed up.
3. Lemons to clean the oven
We all know about the cleaning power of lemons and lemon juice, but perhaps you didn't know lemons can be used to clean the oven: cut a lemon into slices or chunks and place these pieces into a baking dish with some wake. Pop this dish into the ove and bake at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes; the lemon will spread its pleasant aroma throughout the our home and will also stick to the walls of the oven, softening any stubborn grime. Turn the oven off, let it cool down and clean it using a sponge or soft cloth: your oven will be cleaned in a flash and without any major effort.
Your microwave can also be cleaned using the same technique.
4. Clean frying pans with potatoes and salt
Do you have a very dirty frying pan? Sprinkle the dirty surface of the pan with coarse salt and rub this around using a raw potato (that you've sliced in half). Once done, rinse and rub the surface of the pan with olive oil. Do not to use this cleaning technique on non-stick pans as it could damage them.
5. Clean mosquito screens with a sticky lint remover
Stickly lint remover rollers are not just for clothes and fabrics: try using them on your mosquito screens to remove surface dust and dirt.
6. Clean toilets with cola
The toilet is one of the most difficult places to clean properly and some stains can be really tough to shift. Have you ever tried cleaning your loo with fizzy cola? Pour some cola into the toilet, taking care to douse the walls of the bowl and leave it to act for 30 minutes before flushing away.
7. Cleaning the shutters
Cleaning the shutters can be really challenging, but you can make this chore much easier by wrapping a microfibre cloth around some kitchen tongs: this "tool" will allow you to get into hard-to-reach spots very easily and quickly.
8. Wet-wipes in the washing machine
Pet hair and fur can be really difficult to remove from clothes, but there is a method that will allow you to do this effortlessly: put a wet-wipe into the drum before starting a wash cycle. The wipe will "capture" all the hair and fur on your clothes as they are washed!
