Change the look of your home with a few coats of paint
After many years of living in a house with the same furniture and decor, you may feel the need for a change. It's normal for this to happen, as we eventually get tired of most things over time. But it is not always possible to hire an architect and re-do the house from floor to rafters.
So, how can we rejuvenate the home without major expenses? Everything comes down to paint colors. If you change the colors and concentrate on certain focal points, you can achieve this goal. Find out more by reading on:
Front door
Sometimes, we tend to underestimate its importance, but the front door is a fundamental furnishing object. It is the "business card" of the house and sets the tone for our visitors.
You can change the color/s of just one or both sides of the front door. As shown above, a change like this can completely transform your entryway!
Change the look of the floor
The flooring, on the other hand, takes up a lot of space in the house, and so, can go through a "bigger" change. You can move from dark to light coloring (or vice versa), choose a different material, or decide to keep and refurbish your original flooring. This last option is particularly suited to parquet.
With refurbished floors, it will feel like you have a new home!
Lighting
Are you tired of you light fittings but believe changing them won't make a difference? Well, you would be wrong! Even changing just the lighting can make a big difference. Just look at the example in the picture above to confirm this.
This is a relatively small change you can make that will make a big difference.
What if you repainted the kitchen fixtures and fittings?
Now, let's move on to the kitchen. You probably spend a lot of time in the kitchen and may have become bored with its appearance. Well, just by painting the worktops and other strategic surfaces, you can transform your kitchen (as shown in the picture above).
Walls and furniture
And then there are the walls and various pieces of furniture around the house: chests of drawers, wardrobes, closets, bedside tables, bookcases and more. If you don't want to take on too much, limit yourself to repainting the walls to just one "high priority" room. Not only will this "clean" the walls, but it's also the best and quickest way to change a room's appearance.
If, however, you want something more extensive done, then the furniture can also be sanded and repainted (or covered with decorative, adhesive films/wraps).
It really doesn't take much...
As you can see, changing the appearance of your home need not be too challenging. In fact, you can have a lot of fun doing projects like this yourself!
Are you ready to give it a go?
