Longing for spring: 12 ideas to beautifully decorate the entryway to your home
At the end of winter, we all come to look forward to spring and when it finally arrives, it's a joy to watch nature "wake up". So why not welcome this magical season with decorations in your entryway? Don't miss out on an opportunity to bring beauty into your life and those who come to visit you!
Not just wreaths: decorations to hang on the front door in spring
Usually, the first thing we imagine decorating doors for some special occasion are wreaths. But let's go for something a little different! In spring, you can put up a pot of fresh flowers on your front door (using a container/pot of the right shape and weight). It will look lovely (as shown here)!
You can even use waders as an alternative flower pot. And if their original color does not match your front door, you can even spray paint them!
Here's another creative recycling idea: an old watering can be used as a container/flower pot.

A very popular display "container" these days are umbrellas. You may have one which is broken, but looks to be in perfect condition when rolled up! So how about using it as a flower container/pot, just like the one shown here?
Set up a flower corner near the entrance
If you love perennial flowers, you will certainly have a lot of bulbs in your possession. So why creating a dedicated spot for all these "beauties"?
In spring, in fact, you can keep almost all plants of this nature safely outdoors!
You could make a table stand from old pallets, or mount wooden boxes to a garden wall to display all you flower pots and baskets.
Even just a few flower pots/containers can provide a very delicate, elegant decoration. Aromatic plants or small shrubs that are perfect for this purpose.
Recycle old containers as planters for spring
Hunting for old objects to recycle as planters can be fun, especially if we love the rustic style. Old milk churns, tin tubs, metal watering cans - there's a thousand items you can recycle as planters!
In larger metal planters, you can keep (while they are young) a range of flowering trees: hibiscus, lilacs, magnolia soulangeana, are just some of these.
Small containers to place wherever you want
Almost any box, jugs or bottle can hold accommodate cut flowers. These smaller plants can be placed (and moved around) wherever you want and take up very little space.
On the windowsill
If don't have a porch or terrace, why not transform your windowsills with a riot of colours?
