A good example of this is the carpet shown here: hand-woven and with the pile in a raised patterning. This carpet has a timeless design inspired by Art Deco, and the wool blend is reminiscent of the sand on an exotic beach!
Jute and natural fibers

The carpet shown here intertwines jute and cotton, has a rectangular shape and geometric patterns that unite give it its' elegance
If you prefer a checkered pattern, this type of jute rug/carpet could be for you. Each piece is unique, but also requires a higher level of care than other carpet types. It is not adivsed to use these types of carpet in high-traffic areas.
This rectangular jute carpet is "softened" by having rounded corners and edging: elegant and not over-stated.
Unique colors
We all know that Persian carpets are the "kings" of color and decorative patterns. Persian carpets remain popular, but there is also space for more contemporary models. The carpet shown here was designed by Giancarlo Valle and is extremely elegant. Made from New Zealand wool, and decorated in a Latin American/Nordic style blending, this is a very fetching carpet type.
Pink is making a comeback in recent interior design projects (and it's not just Barbie's fault!). There are many pink pieces of furniture now popping up in furniture catalogues - including for sofas. And if your living room is already heading this way, how about a pink carpet? Here, a pink, cotton, oval-shaped carpet almost looks "playful" in this setting.
Decorative patterning
Repeated decorative patterns are another popular choice for carpets. So, how about considering the patterning of Moroccan tiles for a carpet? Certainly, this would make for a unique, eye-catching carpet.
The use of botanical/floral motifs remains popular: in this example, this classic style has been modernized to create a carpet that is reminiscent of a a meadow in full bloom!
All eyes on the carpet
How about a carpet that will grab everyone's attention? Who could ignore a Bengal tiger slinking along the ground, as shown in this beautiful rug?
And if you are a flower lover, hand-woven raised pile "carpet flowers" could be just what you are looking for in a carpet that suits your personality.
