Wearing creased, wrinkled clothes isn't exactly ideal. Showing up at an important event with a badly ironed shirt or dress, immediately creates a poor impression.

But if you hate ironing - or maybe lack the time or means (like when travelling, for example), how can you remove creases quickly? There are three infallible methods to do this that require very little effort. Read on to find out more:

Use a hairdryer

Imagine you're travelling and don't have an iron available: what can you do? Almost certainly, there will be a hairdryer in the bathroom so don't panick. Dampen the item you need to "iron" and dry it with the hairdryer (set to "hot").

The evaporation of the water and the consequent relaxation of the fibers under the flow of heat will ensure that your garment, although not perfectly "ironed", will certainly be much less wrinkled afterwards.

Take advantage of a hot shower or bath

Perhaps you only have time to take a quick shower or bath before having to go out. What can you do? Since steam relaxes fibers, you can take a shower and "iron" you clothes at the same time.

The steam given off by the hot water will fill the entire bathroom, relaxing the fibers of your creased garments, making them less wrinkled. Before putting the clothes on, however, let them dry flat, so that the creases do not reappear.

Quick cycle in the dryer

If you do have a few minutes spare and are at home, put your creased garments in the clothes dryer along with some ice cubes or a damp towel. The steam generated this way will "iron" your clothes.

After putting in the ice and the clothes, run a short drying cycle and the results should please you once done.

An important detail

Most importantly - whatever ad-hoc ironing method you chose - you should always check the label on the item of clothing you are dealing with, and being aware that delicate materials could be damaged by excessive heat.

That said, now you have three alternative "ironing" methods should the need arise. Good luck!
