Remove sweat stains from baseball caps easily by following these tips
Baseball caps: they can be used as a fashion statement, a protective head cover, to hide "bed-head" hair, be cute holiday souvenirs/gifts, and more. Given this, you may have a fair number of baseball caps at home - and, especially if you use them, they need to be washed too.
Obviously, a sweat-stained baseball cap must be cleaned! And doing so, is easier than you might think.
Remove sweat from baseball caps with hydrogen peroxide

The stains left by sweat on baseball caps (and especially near the visor) become more and more visible over time. In addition to these stains being unsightly, there are also hygiene considerations: you certainly don't want to be wearing a cap which is impregnated with stale sweat.
Hydrogen peroxide can remove sweat stains and sanitize your baseball caps:
Use 3% hydrogen peroxide, which is the concentration normally also used for household cleaning chores. Pour the liquid directly onto the stains to be treated and wait a couple of hours. If necessary, repeat this procedure. After this treatment, wash the caps in a regular wash: it will not be necessary to use very high temperatures, and ensure you rinse out thoroughly.
If you are concerned that neat hydrogen peroxide might bleach the cap's colors, test on an hidden spot first. You can dilute the hydrogen peroxide with water, in equal parts, and spray this mixture on the stains. The waiting time, however, will have to be longer for the effects to be seen.
Regular washing of baseball caps

Usually, baseball caps have to be washed by hand: in the washing machine, they risk being damaged - especially the visor.
For a regular wash, proceed as follows:
- Fill a basin with water at room temperature (warm, but not very hot);
- Pour a drop (about a teaspoon, even less) of a mild laundry detergent into the water. Alternatively, Marseille or Castile soap will also work;
- Immerse the cap in the water and let it soak for at least 15-20 minutes;
- Rub the dirtiest spots by hand;
- Rinse thoroughly - if you leave soap residue in the fibers, the hat will look dirty when it dries. If you don't rinse properly, the soap residue marks look just like sweat stains!
- Reshape the cap, especially the visor (which must always be treated carefully) and leave it to air dry;
- Hang the cap up carefully to dry, and do not dry in a tumble dryer.
