A small bathroom does not necessarily mean you have to give up on style. Certainly, the challenge of furnishing a very small space nicely can be challenging, but with the right approach, it is possible to do this. Let's check out together some furniture and accessories that will help you equip a small bathroom with everything you need - and stylishly too:

Making use of wall space is the first step. This will prevent clutter on the floor and allow you to move around more easily. Given this, it is better to choose tall, narrow and high furniture. And if possible, make sure the units you buy are wall units that do not touch the floor!

This will help you keep the bathroom clean and tidy, but obviously, if you need more storage space, you can choose open or closed-faced furniture (with doors) with bases that sit on the floor.

Again, with a view to not wasting unnecessary space, the sink can be "joined" to a cabinet that has convenient drawers or shelves inside it. This extra space can be usefully used for all those products you need kept readily to hand.

Shelves

Now, on to shelves: robust, not-too-wide shelves are preferable. And it's best not to use wood shelves in a humid bathroom (to prevent mold developing and the shelves deforming).

Ceramic, stone and enamelled metal (or stainless steel) are the best solutions for shelves to be made from, and especially in the shower cubicle!

Trolleys and caddies

Trolleys and caddies can work in every room of the house, and the bathroom is no exception. A trolley can be really handy for storing extra items and, especially, if you need to move it around (for example, from the shower to the tub). Trolleys and caddies are perfect for storing items that would otherwise clutter bathroom countertops.

All the available vertical space used up but still looking for more? Well, try using the back of the door: you can install/hook an object holder - like the one shown here - from the top of the door, with baskets or pockets for storing alll your goodies.

A hook (or two) on the wall in the bathroom can be used for much more than just hanging up towels and bathrobes: you can think of them a bit like kitchen storage rails/racks, and hang up your beauty accessories, and more - and all without having to put up more shelves!

For years, using a wooden ladder to use as an object holder has been a popular choice. In the case of the bathroom, a ladder is perfect for hanging towels on, or even a bathrobe or clothes when you take a shower.

Towel-holding radiators

Some of us are fortunate enough to have radiators of the type shown in the above photo. These rail-styled radiators heat up the bathroom and dry out any wet/damp towels placed on them. This prevents humidity building up in the bathroom and ensures your towels are "nice and toasty" when you use them.

As you can see, then, even a small bathroom can be equipped with every comfort!
