Winter typically forces our children to spend much more time indoors: the cold temperatures and reduced hours of daylight means more time spent inside by the kids. Given this, we can entertain the kids by getting them involved doing simple craft projects to create decorations or useful items for the home.

Amongst the many materials that can be used for these crafts, buttons are particularly useful and there are usually plenty of these laying around at home.

From wreaths to snowmen, there are many projects that can be done using a handful of buttons and a few other materials (such as cardboard, cotton thread, string, ice cream sticks, etc).

Below, we suggest 12 fantastic, fun craft projects for your children to try out.
