How to put corners in sheets in seconds - and without any sewing
It may often seem that you do not have enough sheets at home - especially fitted sheets (ie. those with elasticated corners). However, not everyone has fitted sheets to hand.
To resolve this problem, there is a simple tip you can use that doesn't even need any sewing or stitching!
What are fitted sheets?

Fitted sheets are designed to "hook" onto the corners of a bed so that it does not to move around during the night.
Fitted sheets have elasticated corners which allow them to "cling" to the mattress and remain firmly in position.
However, it is essential to choose the right-sized sheets that fit the bed properly - if not, the sheet may bunch up during the night and become very uncomfortable.
To choose the right size, make sure you know the exact dimensions/measurements of your mattresses.
The main advantage of a fitted sheet is, therefore, its ability to stay firmly on a mattress and make for a peaceful night's sleeep.

If you don't have proper fitted sheets at home, don't worry: there is an infallible method that will allow you to create the corners you need to pop over the corners of your mattress.
In short, you simply tie a knot in all four corners of the sheet. Here's how best to do this:
1. Spread the sheet out on the bed, ensuring it is laying flat and even.
2. Tie a knot at each corner trying to take up as much excess fabric as possible, stretching out the sheet.
3. Lift each corner of your mattress and tuck the knotted part of the sheet underneath it.
And there you have it! Once you have tied all four corners and tucked the knots under the mattress, you will have a sheet that is nice and taut and perfectly as good as any proper fitted sheet.
If your sheet isn't big enough to tie the knots in, there's another tip you can use: cinch each corner of the sheet with an elasticated hair band.
Thanks to these simple tips, you will be able to create handly, functional fitted sheets without having to reach for a needle and thread!
