Does your bathroom seem boring? Give it more character by applying the right touches
Showrooms and furniture stores bombard us with suggestions on how to decorate our homes, including the bathroom. So, what should we do if we are finding our bathroom to be a bit boring? Well, there are ways to uplift your bathroom without spending a fortune - keep reading to find out more:
Avoid "flattening"
The most popular bathroom fixtures and fittings have simple, clean lines. There's nothing wrong with this, but it can end up making your bathroom look and feel "flat". Without abandoning this approach, simply consider using different materials: wall coverings with a decorative motif can inject energy, for example. Or choose a top for the sink cabinet in natural stone (or imitation stone), wooden wall units (even in bamboo!), or perhaps pieces of furniture with the increasing popular slatting finish.
Wood and stone: a decor inspired by nature

Following on from this, when choosing the covering for the wall behind the mirror, or for the shower cubicle/bathtub, you can choose a stone (or stone-like) cladding. And how about a wooden vanity cabinet?
Warm colors with an unexpected touch

If you are considering painting the walls, consider using a warm tone. Brown is now being used more often in bathrooms, but the "earthy" tones of terracotta will give your bathroom a warm and welcoming feel.
Then, in a small bathroom, why not introduce some unexpected details? This could be bold wall decorations, a plant placed in an unusual spot, a stunning backsplash (as shown here), and more.
Bold colors and wallpaper
There's no shortage of ideas online for decorating your bathroom with "pops" of bright, energetic color. These can be single pieces of colorful furniture, but also a bold choice for the walls. Consider using eye-catching wallpaper or gorgeous, colorful, wood wall panelling!
Decorate with curtains
Generally, curtains are not used in a bathroom - and when they are, they tend to be light and used only to provide privacy. But what if we thought of the bathroom like a living room? Is your bathroom suitable for colorful, patterned curtains? These alone will transform your bathroom.
Soft lighting
Another element worth exploring is the lighting. Having a central ceiling lamp and some lights around the mirror might not be the right configuration for your bathroom. To make a bathroom more welcoming, you can consider using light sources that emit diffused, soft light for a more "romantic" atmosphere.
Gracious curves
Introduce gentle curves into your bathroom. It can be a curved bathtub, a sink (as shown here) but also curved mirrors, stools, hooks or even shelves... just have fun!
