When you have to renovate your home, the first thing you may think of paying attention to are the walls. This is perfectly natural as - like the flooring - walls take up the majority of the space in a home. But how can this be done in an effective, tasteful way?

Well, there is one way to do this that does produce stunning results. We're talking about using cork cladding on the walls. Cork is great for its insulating capabilities but it can also be used for amazing decor results. Check out the examples below:

Cork is a versatile and resistant material, and it is also a material that has wonderful chromatic/color variations in its fibers. The natural light and dark shadings in cork are a very important factor when choosing for your furnishings. Indeed, the natural shades of cork can add that "something extra" when decorating a room.

Cut into the shape of tiles or planks, cork can also be used in the bathroom. You could consider covering the wall behind the sink with cork, for example. And you can illuminate it properly so that it shows of its rich color variations too. Don't you think this would be a really nice touch?

We usually think of cork as being a mix of brown, honey and khaki colors. But in reality, cork cladding can be much more "colorful".  In this example, the cork cladding comes with a stained wine shade of purple embedded in it. This "grape cork" creates a unique wall pattern, adding to the charm of the room.

Cork can be processed and manufactured in many ways. In this example, the cork looks like tree bark that has been "flattened" and stuck to the wall. The dark background of the "bark" goes well with the dark adjoining wall. Breath-taking!
