There are also other precautions that you can take. If possible, keep the kitchen door closed, so that the smell does not spread throughout the house. At the same time, you can open the kitchen windows to allow the smells to escape.

If the oven is equipped with an extractor hood, make sure this is turned on when you start frying.

Another option is to buy an air fryer, which uses hot air instead of oil to fry food. Additionally you will avoid dirtying your pots and pans and generating large quantities of used oil you later have to get rid of.

A final tip is to use good quality oil, preferably corn or seed oil. These oils break down more slowly than olive oil and give off a less pungent odor. And lastly, immediately cleaning the pots and pans you used to fry your food in can help limit the spread of fried food smells.

If you follow these tips, frying need no longer be a thing to be scared of!
