With the right accessories, placing plants around your home is an excellent opportunity to decorate with style
It's often said that plants are an indispensable component of the furnishings for a house. Indeed, a room never seems complete without a bit of greenery. And plants can be displayed using accessories which can enhance their impact and enrich the environments in which they are placed.
These accessories range from shelves, to pedestals and more: let's check out some examples below.
For hanging plants
Instead of just using a simple hook or bracket, how about considering a floor support like the one shown here? Its arched shape is very fetching and the base could also be hidden behind a table so that it looks like the plant is floating... a lot like floor lamps!
Shelves, but with an unusual design
The metal frames are attached to the wall, and form a sort of "picture framing" around the plants contained within them (sitting on wooden shelves). The overall result is like being in a plant picture gallery!
More shelves, but this time, floating ones,. These shelves have the anchoring system that is completely hidden inside the wall. The wooden discs will give the impression of your plants floating in front of the wall.
Here's a cute idea, perfect for small plant pots (like those used for succulents). This shelf looks just like a mushroom which grows out of the trunks of trees!
Metallic tones give a modern elegance, but with echoes from the past. A simple shape, which takes up little space but which will be noticed!
Open shelves for full displays
With open shelving like this, you gain vertical space: instead of taking up floor space, you can place the plants on top of each other. This way, they become a green wall which can serve as a partition between two areas in the same room, while allowing light and air to pass through.
Open shelving comes in many styles and materials: rustic, modern, wooden, metallic and more. In short, you are sure to fine a style of open shelving that will suit your tastes.
Pedestals
Take note: unless the floor pots we use are large and particularly beautiful, our plants might go unnoticed. This is where the use of pedestals can play a role.
Raising a potted plant off the ground wil make the plant more visible and expose it to more air and light, helping it to grow and thrive.
And you can have a lot of fun when it comes to the materials used to make pedestals! Natural fibres, wood, wrought iron or other types of metal are just some examples. Always make sure that they are structures robust enough to the plant (and the pot) and that water does not drio/drain off from the pedestal in a spot where moisture will create damage.
