Not sure about the idea of having a brown bathroom? These 9 examples will make you reconsider
You may have used bold colors in some of your rooms, but usually, the bathroom is not one of these. And using brown is not going to be your first choice, even when you do want to be a bit more daring. But brown comes in many different shades and can transform any bathroom into a unique, elegant space.
Brown is a warming color, in all the shades, hues and tones it comes in. And all sorts of materials, complementary colors and textures go well with brown. Given this, let's check out some wonderful examples of brown bathrooms.
The sunny brown of a London bathroom
The color used in this bathroom is called "London Brown". This is a sunny and velvety tone which, when used on the wood panelling, reminds one of a bar of chocolate. The black of the taps stands out and looks elegant: minimalist, but classy.
Light shades
Choosing brown-colored bathroom furniture does not have to turn the bathroom inot a "dark cave": in this example, we see how the dominant piece of furniture - the wooden sink cabinet - is in brown and is perfect against a background of pinkish beiges, and with a few darker touches provided by adjacent fittings and fixtures.
What if brown is blended with grey?
At first glance, this bathroom looks like a shop that sells famous French or Italian leather goods. The brown of the furniture and the wallpaper is dark with tones of grey. But this is not a cold, impersonal room, despite its sharp geometries: the burnished brass of the handles, lamps and taps provide warmth, and look great too.
Marble with brown shades
Whether it's the coveted Emperador Dark or some other type of marble, there's no denying that a bathroom like the one shown here, has a decidedly luxurious feel. The colors used are graduated and blend well with each other, with only the black of the sink creating a notable, deliberate contrast.
Exploit the versatility of brown with modern or retro tiles
Ever since tiles have made a comeback in kitchens and bathrooms, designers have reached back into the past for inspiration. Today, you can find tiles in styles that were previously considered to be "antiquated and outdated".

Brown ceramics
There is no doubt that ceramic/porcelain is the king of bathroom materials. And ceramic can be manufactured these days to "mimick" almost any material type and coloring (including brown hues and tone).
Ceramic can even be made to look like weathered marble, metal or copper. A brown background, like the one shown here, is the perfect setting for fixtures and fittings in materials inspired by nature (like stone and wood). And plants will go especially well in a bathroom with this type of decor.
