Sheets are amongst the laundry items that we find ourselves washing most often. And if you don't have a tumble dryer to speed things along, waiting for them to dry inside the house (when the weather is bad) means using up a lot of space for ages. This becomes a very annoying problem during inclement seasons, especially winter: often, our homes can look like "Chinese laundries", with wet garments hanging off every available spot all around the house.

However, we can use special accessories - spiral hangers - to alleviate this problem. Keep reading to find out more:

As you can see in the photo, you can purchase metal or plastic spiral hangers specifically made for sheets. The spiral part is thick enough not to leave marks on the sheets when you remove them.

Thanks to its shape, sheets end up taking up a much less space when hanging up on one of these special, spiral hangers.

Additionally, the space that is left open in the spiral arm allows air to pass through, which speeds up drying times. All you need to do is find a place to situate the the central hook.

Another advantage of this type of hange is in the fact that it allows the sheet to hang down under its own weight. In this way, gravity helps to ensure the sheets do not get too wrinkled and saves on ironing chores later.

Go online to see where you can buy these spiral hangers and perhaps spend a little more to get the more robust stainless steel ones (which will last much longer!).

All laundry should be hung up in well-ventilated and bright locations: this way, humidity and unpleasant odors will not build up or develop. So, even when using spiral hangers, it is best not to have them hanging up outside for days waiting for the sheets to dry (if the weather is inclement).

When the weather is bad, position the hangers near heat sources (like a radiator), or near a fan heater. Doing so is particularly useful when the sheets are still very damp.

Finally, if you use a vertical steam iron to run over the sheets while they are still hanging up, you will not have to iron them again when you take them down!

As you can see, hanging up sheets at home doesn't have to be a problem!
