Bulky sweaters take up so much room! Fold them up properly to save space
During winter there are few things that are as comforting as our sweaters to keep us warm. However, the warmer they are, the bulkier they are and more difficult they are to store neatly in a closet.
Bulky sweaters take up a lot of closet space and we may be tempted to put them on hangers to get around this issue. But being heavy, the use of hangers can potentially damage our sweaters.
So how can we store our sweaters in the best possible way? Well, keep reading to find out:
Method 1: Store vertically
The first method involves folding the sweaters so that they can be stored vertically inside of drawers or placed on shelves.
Start by placing your sweater face down on a flat surface and fold the two sides towards the center, with the sleeves held back. Now take the bottom part of your sweater and fold it upwards to about 2/3 of its height. Finish by folding the top part downwards.
Now, place the sweaters in the drawer vertically so they take up less space and you can find them quickly.
Method 2: Rolled up for travelling

The second space-saving method involves rolling up your sweaters. This method is only suitable for lightweight sweaters, which can be rolled up easily and is perfect for when you are packing your travel luggage.
Start by folding the bottom part of your sweater upwards after placing it on a flat surface with the front facing up. Take the sleeves and fold them diagonally inwards, inserting them into the "pocket" formed by the fold, then fold the right and left hand sides of the sweater inwards.
Turn the sweater over and roll it up starting from the neck and finish by turning the bottom part that you folded at the beginning right side up.
Your sweater will now be ready to be packed compactly into your suitcase.
Method 3: fast and compact
Finally, we suggest the following very quick and effective way to make your sweaters as compact as possible, and which borrows from the foregoing two methods.
Place your sweater with the front down on the surface and fold the sleeves diagonally. Then, take the right and left sides and fold them inwards, then fold the sweater in half bringing the lower part up to the upper part.
At this point, you can fold the sweater in half again to make it even more compact.
