Among the various methods for cleaning the glass of a pellet stove, there is one involving ash. We are referring to the ash produced by pellet combustion: this an excellent, eco-friendly way for cleaning dirty stove glass.

For this ash method, you will need:

  • A medium-sized basin
  • Water
  • Pellet ash
  • Two soft microfiber cloths or kitchen paper towels (or, newspaper sheets)

The process is simple:

  • Dampen the cloth (or paper towel or newspaper) with the water.
  • Place this on the pellet ash so that it picks up a thin layer.
  • Rub this on the glass to remove any dirty marks.
  • Use the other cloth or paper to dry off.

That's it! Without even using detergent, you can clean your stove inside and out whenever necessary using this eco-friendly method.

Clean the glass of the pellet stove with baking soda

If you want to try another method for cleaning the stove's glass, here's what you need:

  • A basin
  • Water
  • Baking soda
  • A brush
  • A microfiber cloth

Here's how to proceed:

  • Put three tablespoons of baking soda in the basin.
  • Add two tablespoons of water and mix.
  • Take this freshly prepared paste and spread it on the glass using the brush.
  • Wait for 10 minutes.
  • Use the cloth to scrub and remove the baking soda and dirt, rinsing and wringing it out whenever necessary. The cloth should remain damp (but not soaking).
  • Dry off with another cloth or kitchen towels.

Instead of a brush, if it's more convenient, you can also use a sponge to spread the paste over the glass.

If you clean both sides of the glass using these methods, it will stay pristine. Not to mention that seeing a lively fire through clean glass is much more beautiful too!
