Gas stoves/ovens, with their burners that quickly reach high temperatures, are a favorite of culinary professionals, and continue to be commonly found in people's homes. However, they are also some gas stove models that are difficult to keep very clean (given their construction layout). But no matter the model, all gas stoves get dirty after use.

So, when our gas stove gets dirty, how can we clean it easily? There are many methods, and we show you some of these below:

As you know, grease, grime and dirt can get everywhere on your gas stove, proving challenging to clean. So, even if it sounds odd, you can start the cleaning process with a vacuum cleaner! Doing this makes it easier to remove the bulk of the dirt and debris found immediately under the burner plates and in difficult-to-reach nooks and crannies. And you can speed up this process by using an old toothbrush to dislodge dirt which the vacuum can then suck up.

Obviously, always make sure you have turned off the gas before starting the cleaning.

In the meantime, place the oven's grills in a basin or in the sink, with warm water, a little vinegar and a few drops of dish soap, leaving them to soak.

Most surfaces are best cleaned with water and mild soap (Marseille soap or dish soap work well), but when it comes to stoves, we more often find that they have stainless steel surfaces.

Using alcohol is the best way to clean stainless steel. Get a spray bottle, fill it with alcohol and spray all over the steel surfaces. Leave it to act for just a couple of minutes before wiping off with a soft cloth.

The most difficult spots to clean on an oven are around the burners, which might need taking apart to clean properly. To finish the job, you can use a clean cloth and alchohol to remove any remaining grime. And there's no need to rinse as alcohol evaporates quickly! Alcohol also works well on the oven's knobs and handles (if they are made of metal).

If you notice that the burner plates/caps are very dirty, you can soak them along with the grills. After these items have soaked, you can remove any dirt and grime using a sponge and a bit more dishwashing liquid. After rinsing off, they will be as good as new again without much effort!
