Turning on the radiators in the house during the winter months is a common necessity, so why not take advantage of this to perfume the house?

There are many ways to do this - using natural ingredients - so let's explore some of them together:

  • Homemade fabric deodorizers: With your hands, you can your own deodorizers - similar to the ones that we hang up in cars - and hang them a few centimeters away from the radiator to spread a pleasant scent. To make these, you can use scraps of fabric and pour two or three drops of your favorite essential oil on them. This also works if you take fabric strips and weave them together, hanging them on one side of the radiator.
  • Bowls of water with spices or aromatic herbs: Have you ever heard of the "simmering pot," a pot filled with delicious-smelling ingredients that is simmered on the stove? A similar principle can be applied to radiators by placing a couple of fingers of water in a ceramic bowl and adding citrus peels, cinnamon sticks, star anise seeds, or other fragrant spices or dried herbs. Essential oils can also work for this.

Don't have enough bowls for the above method? Then an alternative technique to use microfiber cloths. You can do this in two ways:

  • Wet and wring out a microfiber cloth so that it is damp but not dripping, then add 4 or 5 drops of your favorite essential oil, and place it on the radiator;
  • If you have a bit more time, prepare a bowl with hot water and immerse citrus peels or some other ingredient that can scent the water (essential oils work too, of course). Then dip a cloth in this scented water, wring it out, and place it on the radiator. Be careful not to leave the cloth on the radiator while it's still on and the cloth is completely dry: at this point, remove the cloth or wet it again (of course, you can wet it again with any remaining scented water).

These are simple and natural methods that are worth trying!
