Decorate you kitchen for Christmas, from the windows to the cabinets and more
The first area of the home we usually decorate for Christmas is the living room: that's where the Christmas tree usually goes, and where we welcome our guests. Then, for lunches and dinners, we set up the festive table, of course... But why not decorate the kitchen in a Christmas theme as well? After all, we spend a lot of time in the kitchen too!
Just a few evergreen branches, some lights, and bows can be enough, and an unmistakable Christmas atmosphere can fill the entire kitchen. Take a look at the ideas below:
Windows and sink dressed up for Christmas!
A wreath on the window will look great in the kitchen. And if, as is often the case, the window is right above the sink, then maybe you can combine this into the theme too. Green branches and dried orange slices are a perfect idea for decorating the kitchen in a festive way.
Rosemary wreaths
If you want to add more wreaths, perhaps on the kitchen cabinets or on the shelves, what could be better than those made with rosemary branches? Rosemary is an easy-to-find substitute for fir tree branches, it's fragrant, and it is always useful in the kitchen!
Branches placed on open-faced shelves in the kitchen
If you have open-faced shelves, you can also decorate these with wreaths made from evergreen branches or leaves. You can be a bit more lavish on the sides and keep them lighter in the center, so as not to make it difficult to place and remove items from the shelves.
Snow-covered branches
If you prefer a softer look, then a pastel-colored composition of snow-covered branches in a simple jug or vase is perfect in the kitchen. Who said the snow effect should be limited to only the Christmas tree?
Seasonal fruit as a cute decoration in the kitchen
There are many delicious fruits that can be found in the Christmas season, varying depending on the region. With these, we can create lots of cute compositions, changing them as we consume them!
Christmas gnomes around the kitchen
If green compositions aren't your forte, or perhaps in addition to them, you can place Christmas gnomes around the kitchen. Or elves or reindeer. Find the figurines you like and place them in spots where they won't bother you during daily activities, and they'll be there to keep you company throughout the holidays!
Christmas bows
Sometimes it just takes adding a bow to create a festive atmosphere. They can be placed on the kitchen cabinet doors, for exampel, to make them look like huge presents...
... and don't forget the lights
Bows secured to the kitchen chair backs will also create a wonderful, Christmassy atmosphere.
And how about decorating your kitchen light fittings like they have as shown in this photo? You won't need anything else!
Talking about lighting, let's not forget the effect that even just a few strands of twinkling lights can create! Here we see them arranged around a display of ceramic Christmas figurines. But even if you simply put the lights in the windows, or on the curtains, you can easily create a magical, Christmas atmosphere by using them!
A Christmas tree in a culinary theme
When there's space, it's very cute to set up a kitchen Christmas tree using kitchen utensils to replace the traditional ornaments!

You've heard of a "breakfast corner/nook", right? Well, at Christmas - when we indulge in more treats than usual - we can make a spot for breaks with hot chocolate. You can stock this nook with seasonal sweets, teas, and other typical Christmas treats!
If you're thinking more in terms of alcoholic beverages, then even the bar cart or the bar corner can be decorated for the holidays. Not only will it showcase seasonal drinks (eggnog or mulled wine, for example), but there will also be decorations around to make everything feel more festive!
