In the world of interior design, white can always be found: it's the most versatile color, the one you "can't go wrong with," serving as a canvas on which to stage any type of design or style. However, a completely white house is a rarity.

But what color should we choose if we want to add a bit more variety to a predominantly white home? Walls, furniture, fixtures and fittings: what shades/colors  - and combinations thereof - should we choose for these elements? Keep reading for some inspiration:

When you think of the best pairing for white, blue probably comes to mind: it is elegant and classic, and guarantees stunning results. But for something a little more original, why not consider dark green? Forest green, bottle green, olive green - many shades are available to pick from.

Designer's have a favorite shade of green: soothing sage. This shade of green is often combined with soft and welcoming whites, with room wood objects and the use of natural fibres. Perfect for the bedroom, it is actually beautiful when used almost anywhere - from the bathroom to the kitchen and the living room.

If you want to give a boost of energy to your home, there's nothing better than vibrant canary yellow, as you can see in this splendid display by Lookofsky Architecture. It is a truly rich, warm and cheerful colour, which creates a splendid contrast with the colder white of the rest of the room!

Want to try with a less common color? Cosnider dark purple (plum), for example. In this beautiful bedroom, we see that there is  a lot of white, but also a progression to the darker plum color via lilac.
