Removing dirty marks at home with a magic eraser: here's what to try and how
Magic Eraser: the name really promises miracles, but does it actually keep its promises? Generally, we would have to say yes. These all-round special sponges are really very useful, and it's worth stocking up on them so you always have them ready at home.
Magic erasers are made with melamine resin, which has the ability to remove dirty marks from many surfaces, without damaging them. That said, let's check out some of the uses of this product at home:
Spotless floors and walls using a Magic Eraser

If one of your kids have scribbled on the white walls at home, a magic eraser can come in handy. In fact, the paint is washable (or has some type of covering), you can generally use a magic eraser on them. However, since each finish could be different, it is always better to test the rubber on a hidden corner first.
How to best use a magic eraser? Well, it should always be damp and wrung out before being rubbed on the surface you're cleaning. As you rub, the eraser will shed bits. Wipe these away with a clean, dry cloth and you're done!
Similarly, you can use a magic eraser on floors: it works well on ceramic, linoleum and vinyl floors too (but it's always best to test first). We certainly don't recommend using erasers on wood or natural stone floors and especially if they have glossy finishes.
Magic eraser used on shoes
It is inevitable that the white rubber around the bottom of the shoes will get dirty. And sometimes, even the uppers of white shoes can get dirty: in these cases, you can also use a magic eraser. There is practically no risk in using a damp eraser on the rubber parts of shoes. As for the uppers, it depends on the materials they are made of: if in suede, or some other delicate material, it is better to avoid using the eraser on them. Or you could try it on a very small corner and decide if it's worth it.
The verdict
Creativo
If you are not sure whether or not to use an eraser on something, ask this question: would you use sandpaper on the material in question? If the answer is yes, then use the magic eraser. That said, it is always best to be careful and do a test first when in doubt. But undoubtably, a magic eraser will prove to be a useful cleaning ally in your home!
