Say goodbye to traces of limescale on your taps: at home, you have everything you need to make them shine again
In the home, all taps eventually get covered in a white film (if they are not cleaned very frequently). And it can prove to be very difficult to remove this white residue.
This film is caused by limescale, but how do we get rid of it? There are different methods one can use, so, read on to find out more:
Remove limescale from taps by using glass sprays

When cleaning the bathroom you cannot ignore cleaning the mirror (which is usually located above the sink). To clean the mirror (or other glass), we usually use a spray detergent that contains alcohol which is perfect for cleaning glass without leaving streaks.
Well, this spray is also useful in removing the white film from taps: you can spray it directly on the taps, but it is more effective to spray the product on a soft cloth first and then rub the cloth where needed. The taps will be shiny again in a jiffy!
NOTE: this is a remedy that cannot remove hard, limescale deposits/build-ups, but only works on the marks left by droplets of water.
Other remedies to remove the traces of limescale from taps

Vinegar is a great ally to combat limescale, even on taps.
If you need to remove stubborn limescale build-up, then you will need to ensure that the vinegar remains in contact with the limescale for at least half an hour: this can be done by soaking a clean rag in vinegar and tightening it around the tap. You will need to be generous in your use of vinegar so that it does not dry out.
If, however, we only need to remove the white film cause by limescale, then all we need to do is prepare a spray solution of water and vinegar in equal parts, and use it just like a glass-cleaning product.
In a similar way, you can use lemon juice: for stubborn encrustations, follow the same method as used for vinegar and described above.
Always remember that after using these remedies, you must rinse off and immediately dry the cleaned surfaces.
Another useful tip is to keep a clean, dry cloth at the ready near the taps. Just remember to wipe it over the taps after each use and you will keep limescale build-up from happening for much longer!
