Clean and fragrant laundry is the goal we all aim for when we do our washing. And this is especially true for our sheets: sleeping between clean sheets is vital for good sleep. But for many, having sheets that are crisp, uncreased and perfectly folded is also important.

Washing sheets properly (and without wrinkling them) may seem to be quite difficult. But there are some tips you can follow to make this task easier - keep reading:

Sheets in cotton or linen are the most suitable for achieving pristine, crease-free and easily-folded sheets. But not everyone can run out and buy new bed linen, so let's see how to treat the ones already present in your home.

To avoid excessive creasing, wash the sheets by themselves and do not use an intensive wash cycle. This will prevent extensive creasing and wrinkling from happening.

There are two other fundamental aspects to take into consideration: drying and folding. It may seem trivial as a suggestion but we remind you not to leave your sheets in the washing machine drum for long periods after washing: if you do, they will get very wrinkled. So how should we proceed?

As soon as the washing program is finished, remove the sheets from the washing machine, shake them out vigorously and then smooth them using your hands: being still damp, it will be possible to "hand iron" them easily. At this point, proper drying will complete the job.

We advise you to hang up the sheets in such a way that they have sufficient space and can hang down unimpeded. Note that in the case of white sheets, it is better to hang them up outside (but not in direct sunlight to prevent them turning yellow).

It is best to hang sheets out on a proper washing line. Remember not to use pegs to prevent them from leaving marks. Finally, fold them as carefully and symmetrically as possible and put them away gently: now you will have clean, crisp, wrinkle-free and perfectly folded sheets!
