Having to furnish small spaces is always challenge, and in a transitional area, such as the entranceway/foyer, everything needs to be perfect. No one wants to see clutter as soon as they set foot in the house. That said, it is handy to have a space for your things when you come and go from/to the house.

The foyer is, therefore, a space that may be small but is important. Check out the ideas below for some inspiration:

Small foyer: hang everything up

In a small foyer, we don't want anything on the ground. Hanging stuff up is the key her: put up hangers for coats, hats, scarves, umbrellas and more. You can also use hooks, rails and more to achieve this!

There may be room for a small, narrow shelf, as well as the very useful hooks. Just make sure it's all sturdy enough to hold the weight of whatever you want to hang on it.

And, usually, a mirror is a must in a foyer: not only is it beautiful to look at, and useful for checking one's appearance just before going out, but it will also make the foyer little brighter and appear to be more spacious.

Narrow entryways: Take advantage of vertical space

In addition to simple hooks, there are many other ways to take advantage of vertical space. There are narrow shelves, such as those designed to hold paintings, for example, but there are also perforated panels which can be stylish and useful.

There are houses where the foyer is at the foot of a flight of stairs: if space permits, baskets and hooks will also be useful in mounted in the stairwell!

And don't forget to use all the space, right up to the ceiling, if necessary.

Compact cabinets and a splash of colour

Side tables, coffee tables, baskets, drawers: you can take advantage of made-to-measure commercial products or do some DIY projects youself!

A shoe rack topped with a mirror, for example, may be the answer you are looking for.

And don't forget that, given the small space, you can be a little more daring with colors without the risk of overdoing it.

Small entrance, but convenient!

If you have the habit of changing your shoes before entering or leaving the house, then it will be essential to have a place to sit in the entrance. A bench, poufs, a chair... there are so many ways to make even a small entrance convenient.

A few plants for a refined look, and it's done.

How would you like to furnish the entrance foyer to your home?
