Household chores: are you doing them correctly? 6 widespread, bad habits to correct
There are some cleaning tips that are famous; others are less well known and are revolutionary: when it comes to household chores, in fact, we all have habits - but some of these might not be the best. Are you sure your cleaning methods and habits are the best?
Below are some common cleaning habits that should be corrected:
Wooden chopping board
It comes naturally, to wash chopping boards with soap and water, but first we should make sure to remove the dirt that lurks in the cracks and between the fibers of the wood (as much as possible). And a useful way to do this is to use lemons - just by squeezing out some of the juice and rubbing them on the boards like sponges.
Dusting
Dusters, the ones with feathers (real or synthetic) are beautiful, but they do nothing but scatter the dust around. And the same goes for dry cloths or old rags. Even those that do capture dust sometimes under-perform. The solution, however, is simple: just moisten a soft, microfiber cloth and the dust will remain attached!
Cushions
As much as we can wash them, there comes a time when we need to replace our cushions. And you should do this every two or three years. And you should remember to wash the cushions every 3 to 6 months, at the latest.
Remote controls
Pick up the remote control of the TV, the air conditioner, the stereo... look carefully and you will notice that there is a ring of dirt around the buttons. This is mainly caused by the natural oils on our hands.. To clean remotes, use wet-wipes dampened in disinfectant. Never use wet, soaking cloths which will damage the devices.
Windows
Creativo
When it's time to clean the windows, choose a time of day when the sun is not directly on the glass: the hot rays will cause the water to dry immediately, and it will be almost impossible to avoid leaving streaks on the glass!
Washing machine
Do you clean your washing machine? We have to think about this. Using vinegar (or better still, hydrogen peroxide) and a little soap (even dish soap, just a drop, that's fine), wash out the detergent tray, the door gaskets, the filter housing (and the filter itself, of course). Once in a while, do an empty wash using just a little vinegar.
