From the pantry, a product to clean the grouting in your home

Whether they are on the floors or on the walls, the joints/grouting between tiles can easily turn black due to the accumulation of dirt and, especially in very humid environments such as bathrooms, mold can also grow in/on the grouting. Blackened grouting can be horrible to see and can also be a risk to our health.

However, cleaning the grouting is not that easy, especially since even commercially available cleaning products can prove to be ineffective. The intractability of this problem can cause us to simply give up cleaning the grouting at all.

However, there is a very effective grout-cleaning remedy you can use and the resource you need is probably already in your pantry. Read on to find out more:

In your pantry, you almost certainly have some white alcohol vinegar. And it's this product that you can use to clean the blackened grouting.

Pour some vinegar into a spray bottle and without diluting it. Spray it directly on the blackened grouting and leave it to act for ten minutes (or up to 2 hourse for really bad cases). Once this time has passed, scrub the grouting thoroughly with a stiff-bristled brush and the grouting will be cleaned again in a jiffy.

White vinegar is also perfect for whitening and sanitizing many other surfaces, including all the bathroom fixtures, oven tops, stainless steel and to sanitize the refrigerator. Lastly, white vinegar is a perfect anti-limescale remedy, which removes any build-up without damaging the underlaying surfaces.
