Tarnished or dirty silver picture frames: make them shine like new again using these simple tips
A beautiful, silver picture frame can make a great impression: images and photos framed in silver certainly stand out. And if the frames are in top condition, this effect is enhanced
But silver frames - like so many other items at home - become dirty and tarnished over time. Fortunately, there are simple and inexpensive remedies to restore their former glory.

The first method you can try is one that uses toothpaste: select a toothpaste that does not have granules or gel components. Take an old soft-bristled toothbrush or, better still, a flannel or microfiber cloth, place a dab of toothpaste on this and spread it over the surface, polishing as you go. Then with a cloth moistened in warm water, remove the toothpaste and dry off with a clean cloth.
Work with care and it is always preferable to disassemble the frames and put any precious photos safely to one side during the cleaning process.
Instead of toothpaste, you can use another cleaning compound: a paste mush made with banana peels and water. This paste is then used as with the toothpaste method described above.
Here's another cleaning method: heat up a glass of milk (but not too hot) that has a spoonful of lemon juice in it. Using this liquid, polish the frame using a soft cloth dipped in the liquid. Alternatively, mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a glass of warm water and into which you have already dissolved 30 grams of powdered milk.
