The bathroom is area where we tend to devote the most care and attention when it comes to cleaning. But, over time, our toilets will start to show signs of wear and tear and staining. The main cause of staining in the toilet is the limescale left by the continuous presence of water.

For this reason, normal cleaning may not be sufficient; luckily, there are ways to handle this. Amongst these is the making of DIY toilet cleaning tablets.

To make these toilet tablets, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 200 grams of baking soda;
  • 60 grams of citric acid;
  • 10 ml of dishwashing liquid.

Start by mixing the two powders together thoroughly. Once done, add the dishwashing liquid and, if you want your tablets to have a more intense fragrance, also a few drops of an essential oil of your choice. Keep mixing these ingredients and they will form a sort of paste, which you can insert into ice cube molds and leave to set for about 4 or 5 hours.

After this time, remove the tablets from the molds and store them a closed glass jar in a dry place.

You can use these tablets by placing them directly inside the toilet bowl after cleaning the bathroom, leaving them to finish foaming and then scrubbing the bowl with the toilet brush. In the case of particularly stubborn stains, you can put a tablet in the bowl and leave it overnight. These tablets will clean, sanitize and perfume your toilet.

If the stains persist even after using these tablets, you can repeat the operation for a few days.

You will be thrilled by the results!
