Heat reduction: with the arrival of the summer heat, it can be difficult to sleep. So, any tip we can use to lower the temperature is a godsend. And this is where a towel comes into play.
The tip is to wet any towel by immersing it in water. Then, you wring it out and hang it on the door handle, leaving the door slightly ajar. The same thing can be done on the handles of windows or anywhere else where there is a draft. The hot air that circulates hits the wet towel which then acts as a sort of very rudimentary cooling system, reducing the temperature.
Furthermore, by keeping doors and windows open, you will ensure the wetness of the towel will not cause excessive humidity in the home.
Wet towel as an air freshener: do you know the tip about spraying deodorants - especially homemade ones - on curtains? The mechanics are just the same. You take the towel, moisten it and then pour a few drops of one or more essential oils onto it. Now simply hang up the towel and unpleasant odors in your home will be banished for good!
Of course, you don't have to use just towels - any water-absorbing material will do, as long as it's clean. This is a really cheap and easy tip to try for yourself!
