Have you ever taken a look inside your oven, especially if you haven't cleaned it for a while? Bad smells, encrusted dirt, burnt grime and grease residue can all be staring back at us: truly not an "environment" in which we want to cook our food.
But before you rush out and buy commercial oven cleaners, wait a minute: with the tip we're about to give you here, you can save a lot of money and get optimal results. So, what is it? An effective cleaning job can be done with just three ingredients that we all have in our homes. So what are you waiting for? Get a lemon, some baking soda and vinegar and start!
How to prepare your DIY oven cleaner?
It's very easy: just squeeze half a lemon into a container, add a spoonful of white wine vinegar and mix this together. Once this is done, add a spoonful of baking soda, mixing again until you get a homogeneous compound.
To use this compound, apply it (with the help of a sponge) to the dirty spots/areas.Then, leave on to act for half an hour. After this time has passed, heat the (empty) oven to 180 degrees C for 15 minutes. Then, let the oven cool down and remove the compound (and dirt) with a damp cloth. Mission accomplished! Your oven will be as clean and fragrant as when it left the factory (or will be close enough).
Don't forget that keeping your oven clean is also a health and hygiene matter of significant importance.
