Introduced to the West only in the mid-1800s, but  in use in the East from the 1300s, toilet paper is a necessity at home. Since its invention, it has become an essential resource for our hygiene needs.

The invention of fabric softener is more recent; in the past, in fact, cotton fabrics were made softer by using mixtures of soap and oil, which left a soft patina on the fabrics. It was only in the mid-1900s that the textile industry invented fabric softeners to reduce electrostatic charge and improve the texture of fabrics.

Both of these products are normally used only for the purpose for which they were invented. But, in fact, they can be used in numerous other ways. If put together, for example, they can be very useful at home. Let's find out how:

You can make a very useful resource for household cleaning by combining toilet paper with fabric softener. We explain exactly how below:

First, take a roll of toilet paper and, very gently, remove the internal cardboard roll. At this point, fill a bowl with a mixture of 100 ml water, 50 ml alcohol and 15 grams baking soda. Mix thoroughly, then add a cap of fabric softener. When the mixture is perfectly blended, place the toilet paper roll in bowl and pour the mixture over it.

Then place the soaked toilet roll in an air-tight container; now, you have cleaning wipes for cleaning the whole house: sanitary ware, the kitchen, tables and furniture can all be cleaned using these wipes. The alcohol and baking soda have a cleansing and sanitizing effect, while the fabric softener will leave a pleasant scent.

But the uses of the fabric softener wipes don't end there: the softener's antistatic property, for example, makes it a very useful cleaner for windows, but also for your floors. You can also use the wipes to remove stickers, clean dirty pots and pans and polishing wooden furniture.
