A clean and perfumed car is a pleasure for everyone, but it also means paying constant attention to everything that can dirty it and leave bad smells. And to help you do this, a bowl of vinegar is a cheap solution. Anyone with kids or dogs knows that keeping everything clean and deodorized can be a daunting task. And finding yourself with a smelly car interior is not pleasant for anyone.

That's why we usually do everything possible to protect the seats from stains, dirt, crumbs and animal hair. But if, despite our best efforts, a smell develops, what can we do? This is where vinegar comes in:

Just like for laundry, vinegar is a substance capable of absorbing bad smells - which makes it great for deodorising and/or deep-cleaning our car.

All you need to do is take a glass or bowl and fill it with two or three fingers of vinegar - just enough to be easily moved around without it spilling everywhere. Do this task when you know you won't be using the car for a while.

Put the bowl on the floor in front of the seats - indeed, you can also use several bowls to speed up the process (including one in the trunk). Close the windows and doors closed and leave overnight (or at least, for several hours). Afterwards, open the windows or doors to air the interior out of the vinegar smell.

This is a great method to use if there has been "an unpleasant accident" (like someone getting sick), but it is also useful for regular deep-cleaning.

In addition to vinegar, you can use small bowls of activated charcoal or baking soda in the same way (the latter, perhaps, also with some you like essential oil added).

Have you ever tried this remedy?
