If you have a small kitchen, you probably have had to give up a lot, no? But it doesn't have to be like this. Even in the small spaces, room can be made for more. There are many ingenious space-saving solutions and techniques you can resort to to improve your kitchen, and detailed below, are some examples to inspire you

Majolica tiles on the floor, kitchen units in a neutral color and  lots of white wood to brighten up the kitchen and make it feel more spacious. By leaving at least one wall completely clear and free, the kitchen will look and feel bigger.

If you partition off the kitchen, use a half-wall which can as a shelf or counter top, thereby creating more space and, at the same time, improving the visual impact.

And even if the kitchen is stuck in a corner or a recessed niche, light colors and some plants can make it look much more spacious.

To use all the walls, sometimes you risk ending up with the shelves or wall units that are too close to doors or windows: to offset this risk, consider using fixtures (like window frames) that slide open and shut.

Instead of a half-wall as a counter top, you can use a long and narrow wooden table which can also act as an extra work surface.

If one side of the kitchen has the wall units and built-in appliances, perhaps on the other side, you can find space for a table with two seats. Breakfasts and meals will be much more pleasant.

And you don't need a huge kitchen to find a place for a table with three or four chairs.

The corners can be kitted out with special, angled kitchen units, but even just placing the microwave in a corner can be a good solution!

A narrow side table can work too: and those that fold away can be particularly useful.

And if you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and you don't mind cleaning up frequently, then you can consider using lots of shelves and even open-faced kitchen units, which will give the impression of a bigger space.

Small can also be beautiful!
