When you think of it, few materials are as versatile as wood is when it comes to decorating homes - internally and externally. Even in the garden, wood is useful for many creations: it could be the base material for an architectural structure, roofing of all kinds, and various pieces of furniture. And even in its simpler forms - trunks, logs and branches, for example - wood can be used for decoration.

To demonstrate this, check out the ideas below:

Wouldn't it be fun to make mythical creatures, such as elves, from wooden logs and have them placed all around the garden?

Usually, we use wooden ladders to make flower boxes. But you can also build ladder-shaped flower boxes out of logs!

In the same vein, but this time, branches are used to create a chair-shaped planter. The nice thing is that it can be whatever size and shape we want!

What was once just shapened branches, can become colored pencils for a creative palisade or to decorate other parts of the garden imaginatively.

A timeless classic: a long trunk, hollowed out and used as a planter in the middle of a lawn (or flanking paving).

These actually work great in small spaces too, like on a window sill (instead of using the traditional flower pots).

From trunks, it is also possible to obtain large wooden discs, to be used, for example, to pave pathways in a Japanese-styled manner.

And there is no shortage of ideas for using discs cut from trunks for art installations in the garden.
