What you need:
- A spray bottle (which can be a recycled one);
- A glass jar with a lid - it must have at least a one-liter capacity;
- Whatever dishwashing liquid soap you usually use (preferably one with a non-creamy formulation);
- Isopropyl alcohol;
- Water (if your water is very hard, use distilled water instead).
How to proceed:
- Fill the jar with 750ml of water;
- Add 60 mL of isopropyl alcohol;
- Add 120ml of dish soap;
- Mix well and close the jar;
- Wait 3 or 4 hours at least, so the ingredients mix well;
- Pour into the spray bottle and use wherever needed, perhaps starting with the dishes!
Some useful information: alcohol, which is usually used to disinfect, is mainly used here to lift and dissolve dirt. To ensure proper sanitization, a 70% alcohol should be used. However, the combination of dish soap (which contains surfactants) and alcohol are effective at lifting and washing away dirt - and with it germs and bacteria - from most surfaces. For more effective sanitization, where necessary, you could perhaps also use hydrogen peroxide.
Alternative: you could try replacing the dish soap with liquid Marseille soap!
