Stamped concrete floors: an economical alternative to replicate any type of paving or flooring
As beautiful as real stone or wood floors, but much cheaper and more resistant - this is one way to describe stamped concrete floors in a few words. In fact, this product exploits the malleability and versatility of concrete to achieve an aesthetic which is generally considered more elegant and attractive than many paved or wooden floors.
And while wood and paving can be stunning, these materials are very expensive, difficult to maintain and prone to getting damaged. So, stamped concrete is a definitely a cheaper, robust flooring alternative to consider. Check out the photos below:
As you can see, it is simply a task of imprinting shapes onto fresh concrete. This is done with special rollers - just like a stencil or a rubber stamp!
You can replicate the look of almost any type of flooring using this technique, and for a fraction of the cost of the "real" version.
And of course, you can also customize the colors and finish, like has been done for these faux cobblestones.
And, using this technique, finishing off neatly and flush in corners or edges will no longer be an issue.
Even the grout between one "paving stone" and another can be colored to replicate the look of the real thing. And there's no risk of weeds pushing up through the grouting either!
Not just stone paving: with stamped concrete you can also imitate the beauty of a wood floor (which will not be at the mercy of the weather).
It's really just a question of choosing what finish and look you want - almost any material can be replicated using stamped concrete.
Have you ever thought about doing a project like one of these?
