The very easy way to make the entrance to the house more secure
Every new house that becomes our home must also be a safe haven for the family. To this end, we may have a number of safety measures in place: from alarms to iron bars, or security cameras that allow us to keep an eye on things. But the vulnerability of entrance doors can be overlooked.
That said, there is a simple DIY way to make our doors more secure too, and the creator of the method (known as "The Fixer") provides a demonstration of the method:
This is a really simple tip and should be done immediately upon entering a new home.
As The Fixer shows us online, all you need to do is buy two sturdy, long screws (obviously of the same diameter as the screw holes of the lock). These will replace the standard ones that secure the lock receiver piece in the door.
Equip yourself with a screwdriver and remove the old screws in the lock receiver (and which are usually quite short). Take your long screws and screw the lock receiver back down using them.
The lock will now be much more resistant to being forced and your home will be better secured - and all for pennies. Obviously, you can do the same for all the door in your home that need to be "strengthened".
You can see how simple this method is in the video below:
This is a really fast and super-cheap operation which could make a big difference. Do you think it would work in your home too?
