There are several natural remedies that will allow us to remove sweat stains and the smell from clothes and we can choose which one to use based on our specific needs:
- Citric acid, being a whitening product, is suitable for white or light-colored garments and also helps to remove yellow stains that form on white fabrics following perspiration or the use of some deodorants. Put 4 teaspoons in a liter of water and leave your clothes to soak in it for about an hour before washing.
- Obviously, lemon can also be used for the same purpose, as its juice has a whitening action and is therefore recommended for light or white garments. Moisten the affected part and rub it with half a lemon. Let it alone until it has dried and at this point, you can proceed with a regular wash in the washing machine.
- Well known for its ability to remove bad odors, baking soda is another very good ally against sweat stains and odors. You can use it in two ways: prepare a gel with a spoonful of bicarbonate and a little water and rub it on the affected part, leaving it to act until it dries out; alternatively, prepare a remedy that helps you remove odors and stains by mixing 60 g of bicarbonate with 70 ml of hydrogen peroxide at 12 volumes and 70 ml of water, rub the mixture on the affected area, leaving it to act for 30 minutes before proceeding to washing.
- Apple cider vinegar will help you not only remove sweat stains and odors, but will also soften your clothes and revive their colors. You can pre-treat your garments by pouring a few drops of vinegar directly onto the affected area, rubbing gently with a cloth, or pour a measuring cup into the washing machine's drum. For particularly stubborn stains, immerse the garments in a mixture of water and vinegar in a 4:1 ratio and leave them to act for an hour before washing.
- Finally, Marseille soap is not only perfect for washing our garments, but also for pre-treating them: just rub a moistened stick of the soap on the area to be treated and rub the fabric lightly. Stains and bad smells will disappear completely.
