2 excellent remedies for a well-scented toilet without a trace of limescale
Toilet hygiene is certainly a fundamental factor for good bathroom cleaning. It may happen, however, that even if you wash it often - especially inside the toilet bowl - limescale encrustations and stubborn stains tend to form which are difficult to remove. Accompanying these are also bad smells which, due to the limestone that traps germs and bacteria, become persistent.
There are many products on the market that solve this problem, but there are also more natural and ecological DIY remedies.
Here are a few that you might find very useful:
Creativo
For the first of the two remedies, you will need:
- 1 cup of laundry softener
- 2 cups of white vinegar
- 3 tablespoons of salt
All you have to do is mix the ingredients in a container to form a solution which you can transfer to a spray bottle. Once the mixture is prepared, spray it in the toilet bowl and leave it to act for a few hours. After the necessary time, scrub carefully with a toilet brush and flush the toilet. It is a solution that you can use frequently and will help you keep the toilet pleasantly scented and free of limescale.
For an even quicker alternative, you can use:
- 1 glass of citric acid
- A few drops of dishwashing liquid (preferably ecological)
Mix the ingredients together and use them as a cleaner for the toilet bowl, even daily if desired with the toilet brush. Let it act for a few minutes and rinse off. The toilet bowl will always be clean and perfumed and the limescale will struggle to form again.
In both cases, these are more ecological and less aggressive remedies: for example, bleach can be use, but with caution. And many limescale removers are very abrasive and harmful products. What is best to do is to alternate the use of bleach and descalers with the remedies given above.
