Your home will always be neat and clean using these 25 useful tips
A house that is always perfectly tidy and clean requires a lot of commitment and effort, as well as the collaboration from all its occupants. Among the thousand commitments of life today, unfortunately, we are often forced to neglect this aspect of our lives and we find ourselves having to clean up the entire house at the weekend or in our spare time, and not always getting optimal results.
However, there are many tips that will allow us to save time and effort, making the task easier. In this way, it will be much easier to keep the house tidy and clean despite a thousand other daily commitments. Below, we reveal some useful tips for all rooms of the home - and even the outside.
1. Limescale-proof shower head
Removing limescale from your showerhead is very simple with the right tool: spray a limescale remover or a solution of water and vinegar on the showerhead and use a pipe cleaner to clear the holes of the showerhead, then rinse. Your water will flow freely again.
2. Gates, grates and railings
Metal gates and railings can certainly be very beautiful thanks to their elaborate decorations. But how hard they are to clean! For the best results without expending much effort, prepare a solution of Marseille soap and water, immerse an old sock in it, wring it out, put it on your hand and pass it around the entire gate or grating frame to be cleaned. Rinse off with a spray bottle of water and pat dry. Easy, right?
3. Soft laundry without using fabric softener
To keep your laundry soft, you don't need to use a fabric softener: insert two tennis balls into the drum and proceed with a regular wash: the fabrics will remain very soft.
4. Sanitizing detergent for fabrics and surfaces
Make a detergent and sanitizer for surfaces and fabrics by mixing baking soda with a few drops of scented essential oil in a glass jar. Cover with plastic wrap and secure with an elastic band. Then punch holes in the plastic wrap. Spread the baking soda mixture on the fabric to be cleaned, leave it to act for 30 minutes and then vacuum it up. On other surfaces, you can remove with a damp cloth.
5. Anti-limescale
Annoying limescale stains can easily form on taps and metal parts of showers and sinks; to remove them and prevent them from re-forming, pour some body oil on a microfiber cloth and use it to clean all your metal surfaces. The water will roll off without leaving any residue.
6. Reusable, multipurpose wipes
Make practical, reusable, multipurpose cleaning and sanitizing wipes to speed up your cleaning operations. In a glass jar, mix water, dishwashing liquid and hydrogen peroxide. Then cut multipurpose cloths into squares, roll them up and place them in the jar. Close the lid and shake well. The solution will soak the cloths and your wipes will always be ready to use.
7. Streak-free glass
For perfectly clean windows, prepare a solution of water and a little washing-up liquid, soak a microfiber cloth in this and pass it over your windows. Dry off with a clean microfiber cloth and your glass will be clean and without streaks.
8. Baked-on grime
When cooking, it often happens that spills and food residue are deposited around the stove. And if you don't clean these away immediately, you could have a hard-to-solve problem. To treat most baked-on grime, immerse some orange peels in a jar of vinegar, shake well and let this rest for 15 days before transferring the solution to a spray bottle. Pour bicarbonate of soda on the grime to be treated and spray on the solution. Then remove with a sponge. The surface will be perfectly clean again!
